How long we take

Each request is given an expected-response date when you submit it, at most 90 days later, the longest period the DPDP Rules 2025 allow for responding to a grievance. The date is shown on your request; we aim to respond sooner, and the date does not move once set.

If you are not satisfied

If we turn down your request, only partly meet it, or do not respond by the expected date, the Privacy Centre shows you how to complain to the Data Protection Board of India. You must first use our grievance process.

Complaints to the Board: Data Protection Board of India (online platform). The Board's web address will be published here once confirmed.
